Chelsea Handler on her 'new guy'

Chelsea Handler has a new "man" in her life following her split from hotelier Andr Balazs earlier this month.

"My new guy!!!!" the comedian tweeted yesterday, along with a photo of her cuddling a new puppy. "Meet the newest addition to the handler family! Gary."

Gary is Handler's second pup, joining Chunk, the German shepherd-Chow mix that Handler rescued in 2009. Chunk is something of a celebrity: He has his own Twitter feed and appeared on the cover of Handler's book, "Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang," staring up his owner's skirt.

While she is newly single, Handler explained on "Piers Morgan Tonight" last week that she is not yet looking for a new relationship. "I'm in a happy time in my life. I'm not on the prowl," she said. "I like men who have something going on ... And I like them in small doses."

Chelsea Handler has adopted a new dog.

Handler isn't the first celebrity to jokingly refer to her pet as her boyfriend. After Olivia Wilde's divorce from Italian prince Tao Ruspoli, as rumors swirled that she was dating Bradley Cooper, she tweeted a photo of her dog along with the words, "Here is my one and (only!) boyfriend in bed."

"Is it sad, that my dog is essentially the man in my life?" she said to People a month later.
