Comcast Reportedly Warns Chelsea Handler: Stop Making Fun Of Matt Lauer

According to a report in todays New York Post, Chelsea Handler has been warned by her bosses at Comcast to steer clear of making jokes about Matt Lauer and other Today Show hosts, past and present.

Last week, Handler made a joke about Al Rokers now infamous I pooped my pants incident on Chelsea Lately that included a dig at the rocky relationship between Lauer and former Today Show host Ann Curry. After playing a clip from Rokers Dateline NBC interview, Handler told the following joke to huge laughs from her audience.

This isnt the first time a Today Show cast member was in the news about this sensitive subject. For years it was common knowledge that Matt Lauer spent every morning [shitting] all over Ann Curry.

Comcast, which owns both NBC and the E! network, was not as amused. A source told the New York Post, Chelseas writers were warned to lay off Matt. They dont want them making more fun of Matt and the Ann Curry situation right now. Savannah Guthrie was officially named as Currys replacement back in June of 2012 and since then Lauer has taken on much of the blame for her departure.
