(CNN) - New Jerse! y native ! Chelsea Handler has stepped up to help those affected by Superstorm Sandy.
The comedian pledged to donate $100,000 to help with relief efforts on the East Coast.
The donation was sparked by actor John C. Reilly, who was a guest on her talk show, "Chelsea Lately."
Reilly asked the show's studio audience to text a $10 donation to the Red Cross.
Handler responded by saying she would donate $100,000 in the actor's name.
