Chelsea Handler to produce ABC comedy Discounted starring Fortune Feimster
Chelsea Handler is set to produce Discounted, an ABC comedy starring her Chelsea Lately regular, Fortune Feimster.
Deadline reports that the Chelsea Lately host is executive producing the half-hour comedy starring her friend, comedian Feimster.
Feimster co-wrote the script with Jim Freeman and Brian Jarvis (Buddy 'n' Andy). All three of them are set to executive produce the show, along with Borderline Amazings Tom Brunelle and Brad Wallack. Mike Pennie (Raising Hope) is slated to be the frontrunner and will executive produce.
Discounted will focus on two half-sisters, Julie and Molly. Feimster will play one of the sisters. The sisters will try to run the family furniture business but will face various problems including odd employees and a competitor, a Danish store called Wd.
Feimster told the Hollywood Reporter, I love working for Chelsea and she's someone I'd like to be working with for a long time.
"Teaming up with her production company for this project seemed like a perfect fit, Feimster continued. They already know my comedic sensibilities and luckily my sense of humor goes really well with theirs. Plus, nobody knows how to dress me up in a more ridiculous costume th! an Chelsea does!"
Chelsea Lately airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET on the E! network.
