Happy Birthday Chelsea Handler! Fun Facts About the Funny Blonde You Didn't Know
Happy Belated B-day Chelsea Handler! The comedian turned 37 over the weekend and we're helping the blonde babe celebrate her personal milestone. Let's look at some fun facts about the star.
Drunk driving helped her career
Sounds crazy, right? But it's true! The celeb went into comedy after she got a DUI at the age of 21. The star used to tell humorous stories to her fellow offenders in a rehabilitation class. The star knows drinking and driving is no laughing matter though.
"I mean if you are correcting you're behavior, its not a repeat thing. In real life I got a DUI once. I haven't gotten one since," she said in regards to the incident being played out on her TV show "Are You There Chelsea?"
We're glad Chelsea learned from her mistakes at a young age but at least the experience helped her with her comedy skills.
She will do anything to party!
When we're teenagers we love to sneak around to friend's parties but Chelsea took it one step further and called the police on the father to get him out of the house. She even went so far as to say he was molesting her. Yikes!
"My relationship with my father had been on the proverbial fritz since the time I was fifteen and called the police to report him for child molesting," she stated . "He had never molested me, but I wanted to have a party that weekend and needed him out of the house."
Talk about a way to get pops out of the house! It's interesting to hear that the blonde hot! tie was just as wild and crazy back then as she is now. Do you think Chelsea went too far?
She used to get teased in school
Despite her tough girl attitude this is one celeb who had to go through the same high school bullying many of us have experienced in the past. Who knew that behind this bad girl's exterior was someone that was regularly disliked during her adolescence? That's okay. Chelsea doesn't mind.
"When you're little and growing up and you're bullied, all you want to do is be like, 'You don't know I'm going to be something, and you're just going to be a housewife who doesn't work with twins that you hate. So shut up!' I used to get tortured all the time by the older girls and they'd tell me I was ugly and fat. This is the greatest comeuppance of all.," she said.
We couldn't have said it better ourselves. We love that Chelsea is one celeb who is putting her past into good use by making it a laughing matter.
