Blake Shelton talks Christmas album, 'The Voice' and drinking on 'Chelsea Lately'
The country music star, who has a ranch near Tishomingo with wife country star Miranda Lambert, was on Chelsea Handler's talk show on cable's E! channel to promote his first Christmas album which is being released Oct. 2.
The album, "Cheers It's Christmas," contains several duets with Shelton and Michael Buble, Oklahoma native Reba McEntire and a special duet with his mother, Dorothy Shackleford.
"Listen, you don't ever have me on the show I've got to take what I can get," Shelton retorted when Handler asked if he knew Christmas wasn't happening for several months.
The two exchanged quips about everything from his success as a coach on NBC's "The Voice" to fellow coach Christina Aguilera's choice of outfits on the show like fishnet stockings, heels and "hard, leather underwear," reported tasteofcountry.com.
"I like it," Shelton laughed. But he was cautious when the talk show host asked if he hangs out with pop singer Aguilera. "Are you trying to get me killed? Doesnt she own this town?" he said, laughing.
Of course, Handler asked if Shelton's wife of a little over a year, country star Miranda Lambert, is pregnant and Shelton had a quick answer.
"No, not to my knowledge, Shelton said, adding "I appear to be; that's from the drinking."
"Chelsea Lately" airs at 10 p.m. weeknights on E!, cable 60.
