'Chelsea Lately' to Shift to Politics?
Though Chelsea Lately is primarily known for its snarky celebrity gossip commentary, if Chelsea Handler has her way, the show will get a lot more serious next season.
The outspoken comedian graces the cover of the latest Marie Claire, where she dishes that she's getting tired of discussing the Kardashians and Lohans of the world.
"There was a period of time when I started getting antsy and was like, 'Ugh, I can't sit here and gossip anymore,'" she admits. "I want to talk more about politics and human-interest stories, like when somebody shoots somebody else at a drive-through over Chicken McNuggets -- stupid stuff like that."

So, is Chelsea the next Jon Stewart? Or is she moving on to a higher-profile late-night network gig as has been rumored since her contract for Chelsea Lately is up in 2014?
"There's no long-term goal," she says. I just know I'm on a contract for two years and in the interim I'm gonna do whatever I can to make that as fruitful as possible, and try and get as much success as I can for the people around me."
Trash Talk: Nick Cannon vs. Chelsea Handler
According to Chelsea, despite her impressive media empire that's banked an estimated $22 million, she's not even "that aggressive or ambitious."
"I know it doesn't seem like that, but I don't feel like, 'Oh God, I've got to do this, I've got to do that," she explains. "I have severe ADD, and I'm constantly looking to ! amuse myself."
